Kelowna & Okanagan Family Photographer

Most outdoor family sessions are around 1 hour, but we shoot until I have what we need, and sometimes that's less and sometimes it's more.

I shoot on location so we’ll find a spot that feels like you. That could include parks, lakesides, and family properties around Kelowna and the Okanagan. If you have a place in mind I'd love to hear it, and if not I'm happy to suggest something based on your family and the time of year.

They almost never cooperate the whole time and that's completely fine! Some of the best family photos happen in the middle of chaos. 

I work at a relaxed pace, I'm patient with kids, and I find that once they stop trying to perform for the camera the real magic happens. Bring snacks, let them run around, and trust the process.

By not asking them to pose. I work by giving families things to do together rather than directions on how to stand. Piggyback rides, tickles, running, exploring. Kids respond to play, and the photos are always better for it!

Spring and fall are the most popular. Fall in the Okanagan is really stunning, with warm golden light and rich colors from late September through October. Spring offers fresh green landscapes and comfortable temperatures. Summer sessions work beautifully too but I'd recommend early morning or golden hour to avoid harsh midday light.

I'd recommend booking 1 to 3 months in advance for sessions in the Okanagan. 

Family, maternity, and newborn galleries are delivered within 1 month. 

The best outfits are ones that feel like you on a good day. Co-ordinated but not matching tends to work well. Stick to a colour palette you loves, avoid logos, and dress for the season and location. Comfort matters too, especially if little ones are involved. 

Yes, film is available upon request for family, maternity, and newborn sessions in Kelowna and across the Okanagan.

For maternity, I'd recommend booking 1-3 months ahead, and booking your newborn photos at the same time. The actual date of your newborn photos will be determined once baby is born.

The sweet spot for maternity photography is typically between 24 and 36 weeks. By this point your bump is beautifully visible but you're still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session. Every pregnancy is different though, so get in touch and we can figure out the best timing for you.

For newborns, the ideal window is within the first 2 weeks after birth, when babies are still very sleepy and curly. Lifestyle newborn sessions can also work beautifully up to 4 to 6 weeks, so don't worry if your timing is a little later.

Lifestyle. My approach to newborn photography is relaxed and natural. I focus on your baby as they actually are: the details, the sleepiness, the way they fit into your family. The result feels more like your real life and less like a studio shoot.

Maternity sessions are shot on location across Kelowna and the Okanagan. Popular spots include lakesides, open fields, orchards, and quieter natural settings that let the focus stay on you. I'm also happy to shoot at a location that's personally meaningful to you and your family.

Newborn sessions take place at your home. Shooting in your own space keeps things comfortable and relaxed for your baby and your family, and it means the photos feel like your real life. All I need is a few good light sources and a comfortable spot to work.

Maternity sessions typically run around 1 hour. Newborn sessions typically run 1 to 2 hours. Babies set the pace and we never rush! There'll be feeding breaks, settling time, and plenty of space for things to happen naturally.

Absolutely, and I'd encourage it! Including your partner and any older children makes the session feel complete and gives you a fuller picture of this moment in your family's story. Kids especially tend to bring a lot of heart to maternity sessions.
